I recently had to reformat my hard drive after a MS update stopped me accessing the internet. I couldn't find any other workable solution. Consequently my bios reverted to the original and now I find I cannot update. My PC currently crashes when loading game programs or updates, and freezes when playing Rome2. My motherboard is an ASUS P7P55D-LE and I have downloaded the appropriate file: P7P55D-LE-ASUS-2003 and put on a USB drive.
The bios is an AMI version 2003. I have tried a few attempts at loading the new bios at boot up and everything seems fine when loading and auto reboot, but it doesn't take. I have read that I need to change the ROM file name, but I am not sure to what?

Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance for the help.
